Castohn, based in Lakewood, Wash., was honored at the Rosetta Hardscapes Producer Summit held Sept. 25-27 with the 2018 Rosetta Project Award for Municipal Project of the Year.
Many manufacturers submitted their projects for consideration, but Castohn's rose to the top based on the best overall quality, creativity, and salesmanship. The Issaquah Highlands in Issaquah, Wash., is a planned community and neighborhood, with many trails and parks for its residents. Central Park, with multiple sports courts, outdoor dining areas, and trails, needed a way to turn the surrounding hilly landscapes into functional seating areas. That's where Castohn and Rosetta stepped in.
Issaquah wanted something different than typical wall blocks. "It had to be affordable for the city and reminiscent of natural rock formations," said Joenathan Tatum, Castohn Architectural Rep. The project used 1,600 square feet of Rosetta Belvedere freestanding seat walls and corners, topped with 714 linear feet of Dimensional Coping in a custom Castohn color called Western Buff.
Castohn offers Rosetta Hardscapes' full line of wetcast concrete landscaping products, including retaining walls, patio pavers, fire pit kits, and accessories. Its unique, natural appearance and easy installation processes make Rosetta an increasingly attractive option for landscape professionals and homeowners across North America.
