How Mississippi Homeowners Built Their Dream Backyard with the Rosetta Hardscapes Pre-Planned Patio Guide

The Challenge: Escaping Erosion

Not many homes come equipped with a flat lot built for big dreams. The Jones family in Madison, Mississippi, loved their home and the surrounding woods, but their “dog run” area had become an eyesore and the main location of water runoff. Erosion was occurring, and they were concerned for the longevity of their coveted property. With a master landscape plan in hand, they turned to local hardscape experts to transform their backyard into a place where time slows down–a true escape.

The Jones family had a few must-have items in mind for their new space:

• A patio to provide a focal point for the backyard, and act as an anchor for additional hardscape elements
• A wood-burning fire pit to keep cozy during cool evenings
• Multiple seating options for entertaining friends and family

They knew what they wanted–they just needed the manpower and know-how to help them make their vision a reality, and that’s where Rosetta Hardscapes came in.

The Solution: Pre-planned Precast

While taking a drive one day, Steve and Mary Jones spotted Earthscape Supply, the Rosetta Hardscapes producer in Canton, Mississippi, and were immediately drawn into their showroom. Realizing this was fate, they partnered with Earthscape’s landscape architect, Martha Hill, who recommended using a variety of Rosetta Hardscapes precast solutions for their project.

Martha showed the couple a rustic pre-planned patio layout from Rosetta, and they were hooked. With the layout to work from, they customized the placement of a fire pit and began visualizing where additional elements, like a swinging bench and patio furniture, would go. The pre-planned layout acted as a guide and a basis for the entire design.

• Custom Rosetta Hardscapes columns with a pergola attachment for a hanging bench, constructed with Belvedere Wall and corner blocks and Belvedere Coping
• A round, wood-burning Belvedere Fire Pit for snuggling up during cool evenings
