THE CHALLENGE:

Build a Retaining Wall to Launch a Transformative Garden Project

Creating a safe, peaceful outdoor space was the priority for phase one of a therapeutic prayer garden at Cumming, Georgia-headquartered organization No Longer Bound, known for life-changing addiction recovery programs. That meant constructing a reliable retaining wall on a steep slope to anchor the space. The project’s landscape contractor, Maxwell Landscape Construction, was tasked with installing Rosetta’s Grand Ledge wall system for the first time to bring this anxiety-free outdoor sanctuary to life.

Join Christian O’Hara of Piedmont Precast as he meets with a No Longer Bound representative to tour through this project's beginning phase.

THE SOLUTION:

Grand Ledge Garden Wall Installed in One Day

Take it Outside, a company focused on building outdoor spaces where people can de-stress, partnered with Piedmont Precast and Maxwell’s Landscape Construction to bring phase one of the garden to life. Together, they delivered:

  • 240 sq ft (22.3 sq m) of Grand Ledge retaining wall installed in under 8 hours
  • Streamlined installation completed by a 3-person crew, thanks to Rosetta Hardscape’s machine-set block efficiencies and simplified installation instructions
  • A 5 ft (1.5 m) gravity retaining wall with no geogrid reinforcement required The necessary infrastructure to support a new outdoor space for this commercial landscaping project

With Rosetta’s Grand Ledge retaining wall system, the project team delivered a fast, efficient solution that didn’t sacrifice beauty or structural integrity. A strong, natural-stone-like retaining wall now grounds phase one of the prayer garden, creating the foundation for a beautifully landscaped space in future phases, with the entire project expected to be completed in early fall of 2025.

The installation was done by Dexter Maxwell at Maxwell's Landscaping. It was their first time installing this product, and it blew them away. They were able to do this 240 sq ft (22.3 sq m) project in just under eight hours.
